Technomousse is a company very focused on the research and development of its products. How have Technomousse brand mousses changed and evolved over the years and on which features have you worked the most to make them more and more performing?
Marco Boletti: “Yes, our company, both for the motorcycle and the bike product range, has always aimed to work closely with teams and riders to develop an increasingly performing product. From the beginning we knew we had an excellent starting point to work on, with a product with extremely innovative, technological but above all unique characteristics compared to other related products on the market. In fact, we were the first to launch mousses with no expiration date, capable of resisting climate change and the most intense and extreme stresses typical of the off-road world. As regards the motorcycle part, Technomousse covers a wide range but we are always working to improve ourselves and to add products to our catalog. To date, our motorcycle product range includes four types of mousse: ENDURO, MOTOCROSS, SAHARA, specifically designed for long distance trips and for MINICROSS.”

During this forced stop period from competitions and training in which direction has the company worked?
M.B: “We have worked on several fronts, we have concentrated on the development of new products but without testing them in the field for obvious reasons (lockdown) and we have concentrated a part of our work on the implementation of our sales network at national and international level. Last month we formalized a new commercial partnership with Athena with which we are very satisfied and which will allow us to increase both our distribution and the circulation of the brand. In recent months we have worked closely with some national and international online and offline magazines that have tested and reviewed our products, greatly increasing the interest and demand and allowing us to start again immediately with enthusiasm and optimism in the Phase 2.”

I saw your hashtag #leaveallbehind; a positive message in a difficult historical period, do you want to tell us about it?
M.B: “Yes, we have identified a strategic hashtag to celebrate this restart: #leaveallbehind, intended both as leaving this bad period behind, and as leaving everyone behind and thus performing the best possible athletic performance. A liberating gesture and a wish that we all hope for the months to come. I would like you to help us to make critical mass around this hashtag and we could all together make it truly widespread and viral. We are slowly starting up again and things are better day after day and as a company we felt the need to launch our hymn to the restart.”

E level-bike mousses are your news, how are sales going? Do you already have a widespread distribution as for the motorcycle product range?
M.B: “E-bike mousses are not a real novelty, we have always produced them since Technomousse was born. Let’s say that in the last two years we have concentrated on developing two types of product which are currently enjoying enormous success, both nationally and internationally. In fact, we are slowly building a distribution network in this sector too.”

There is a lot of talk about a mobility, post Covid, focused on the bike world. What do you think about it?
M.B: “In this period, the leaders of the major European nations are coming together to face the crisis and part of their investments will be destined for a new greener road network. The bike will be the protagonist, I assure you, it is no coincidence that two major bike manufacturers have announced that in the first four months of 2020 they have made a record turnover. We also do not neglect the motorcycle segment, for reasons of practicality and safety many people will think of buying a motorcycle for daily use. As happened in China where 60% of the population preferred not to take public transport using motorbikes, bicycles, rental cars and other means of transport, so we hope that this will continue to happen not only now but also when we have come out of this emergency because we strongly believe that mobility on two wheels will certainly be the future. Now we must return, I hope soon, to almost normal and face the future with greater awareness and determination.”

In Italy you have signed an agreement for the distribution of your products (motorcycles and bicycles) with Athena. How is the collaboration going?
M.B: “The collaboration is booming, we have created a young and dynamic team and with whom we deal daily to better promote the brand. We are even considering entrusting Athena with distribution in other countries around the world, but this will be the next step.”

And what are your best markets in Europe?
M.B: “Obviously the most important market is the Italian one, but in recent years we are also achieving excellent results in France, Germany and Spain. Eastern Europe also responds well to the market especially thanks to the SuperEnduro stages, sponsorship that has allowed us to record an increase in sales.”

What was your most beautiful GP in which you participated and which is your favorite rider.
M.B: “This year I went to the SuperEnduro stage in Hungary and I must say that it was truly a high-level event. I loved it.  The Italian stage in Rovetta of the last Enduro World Championship also impressed me greatly. Favorite rider? Matteo Cavallo!”

Future plans of Technomousse?
M.B: “Many things are boiling in the pot, both as regards the world of bikes and motorcycles… but I won’t tell you anything for the moment. Our goal is to conquer the leadership in our sector year after year by gaining the trust of other markets certain that the constant research and development work to which we submit our products, combined with the incredible quality of raw materials and our great experience in the processing of plastics is the winning mix. So full gas and full speed ahead.”
