After a great first season, the Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup is back in the FIM Borilli Enduro World Championship. This weekend, at Réquista in France, the three categories that make up this World Cup will offer a great spectacle to the assemble fans. So now it’s time for us to take a look at the three categories …

Starting with the Open 2-Stroke category where Gonçalo REIS (P – Gas Gas) will be the man to beat. Winner in 2019, the Portuguese rider is clearly aiming for the double. Behind REIS, it is also difficult to find a real rival given that the category has experienced a real turnover with a lot of new faces … It will therefore be necessary to keep an eye on the performance of drivers such as Loris GUBIAND (F – Sherco), Robert FRIEDRICH (CZ – KTM) or Ricardo WILSON (P – Beta).

REIS, VAN HOOF & ANDERSSON…The Big Favourites?

As for the Open 4-stroke where we will find 18 riders entered, four competitors stand out in the form of Mathias VAN HOOF (B – Husqvarna), Benet GOMEZ (E – Honda), Jorge PARADELO RODRIGUEZ (E – Husqvarna) and Andrea BELOTTI (I – KTM).
But beware of the Belgian armada made up of VANDERHEYDEN (Husqvarna), VINKEN (KTM), VALENDUC (Husqvarna), DIETGER (KTM), BRAL (KTM) and TICHOUX (Yamaha) who will join their class countryman, VAN HOOF.
Special mention also for the participation of Mireia BADIA (E – Husqvarna), who is preparing for the Women’s World Cup which will take place during the last GP of the year.

Finally, let’s look at Open Senior! Exit the 2019 winner, David KNIGHT (GB)… This leaves the field open to a long list of riders…
Starting with Patrik and Christer ANDERSSON (S – Yamaha), France’s Pierre HOURDIN (F – Husqvarna), Arnaud ADAM (Honda), Benoit MARONNEAU (Husqvarna) and Philippe GOUT (Sherco).
The surprise could also come from the Hispanic quintet formed by GARCIA DONOSO (KTM), MARSET (Sherco), CARPIO CALCERRADA (KTM), MARTINEZ CORBALAN (KTM) and GONZALEZ CENTENERA (KTM)…

There are no fewer than 42 riders entered in this very first round of the Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup 2020. The World Cups created by ABC Communication and the FIM therefore confirm the success already achieved the previous year. These three categories, along with the main World classes, should provide Enduro fans present at Réquista this weekend with great action across the three specials carved out by the Réquista Moto Sport club.
