Last weekend Geneva played host to the FIM’s Conference of Commissions which takes place before the start of the motorbike season, and for the second consecutive year the promoters of EnduroGP were invited to this important meeting.
The Conference of Commissions allows the 13 FIM commissions to present their balance sheets for the 2019 season as well as any changes or new features to come for 2020. John COLLINS, Director of the Enduro Commission, presented the members of the commission and outlined the changes made to the EnduroGP regulations. Subsequently, Bastien BLANCHARD of ABC Communication presented a review of 2019 with the arrival of the Open Cup, the creation of the “Legend Race” as well as the increased partnership between the promoter and the FIM in terms of communication. He then presented the 2020 calendar as well as the objectives set in terms of entries, quality of events, and increased links with the FIM Environmental Commission (CID).
It’s also worth noting that for the very first time, the FIM President, Mr. Jorge VIEGAS also invited certain members of the international press and for Enduro, it was Jon PEARSON from Enduro21.com who was present.

The FIM Conference of Commissions is a key opportunity to meet the members and directors as the year’s activities are being prepared. This event also works to thank and reward the volunteers for their dedication and service to the FIM. As of last year I have welcomed the promoters to participate in the session. For the very first time, we also invited international media from different disciplines to join the session so that they could meet the people behind the scenes of the events. I will reiterate this invitation in the future. One of my most important wishes is to open the FIM to the outside world.”
