The 2019 EnduroGP season was a turning point.
Enduro is one of the few motorsports where everyone, really everyone, can go to a dealer and buy the bike of their dreams.
Not a derivative of the bikes driven by the world’s strongest riders in the world’s most important races.
Exactly the same bikes.
Is that all? Absolutely not. Fans are able to race side-by-side with the best, in World Championship competitions, on the same routes.
The Open category was introduced exactly for this reason, to let the fans actually take part in the race instead of crowding the cross tests along the route in order to cheer on their heroes and watch how they take on the technical challenges.
Let’s be clear: it’s not for everyone. It’s not an everyday ride, but it’s not exactly a competition for stuntmen either.
It’s a real Enduro race.
First and foremost, in our world, the pros are real fans, in the same way as the amateurs are. This is why you can make out someone like David KNIGHT in the ranks of the Open: he doesn’t race for glory, which he’s already achieved, and he doesn’t need to add another title to his large collection either.
Passion. It was pure passion that attracted more than 780 riders. We would like to thank them and invite them for an even more exciting 2020. Some are fast, others less so, but all of them are ready and cannot wait to take part in the Enduro World Championship.
Most of the amateurs have one goal at the start: to get to the finish line.
The vast majority of those who started made it to the finish, and we are convinced that those who didn’t enjoyed a unique experience anyway.
What can we say about the Championship as a whole?
The teams all agree that EnduroGP is the most important showpiece for the global scene. Apart from the ISDE, it’s the only title that really counts.
“EnduroGP is the Championship and it’s something important. We are very proud to be a part of it”, says Carlo CURCI, Technical Manager of the RedMoto.
Jarno BOANO, Team Manager and Owner of the Beta Boano Team, adds, “EnduroGP represents the best of Enduro, including all the best riders and manufacturers”.
You can also gage the importance of the Championship from the fact that it’s continuously attracting more followers. Thousands of fans lined the routes in every single GP this season. Riders, fans, families, and children created a unique and authentic environment. A solid and united community held together by a passion and values that only those who love Enduro can really understand.
More than 100.000 spectators. And, yes, that’s almost 30% more than last year.
When you ask a driver how they feel during a race, they often say that they normally feel completely alone with their bike when facing a difficult route for so many hours. At the EnduroGP races, however, both pros and amateurs never feel alone and, often, they are pushed not only by their bikes’ engines but also by the cheering crowds.
Let’s be responsible and continue making an effort that the younger generations practice our sport.
The Junior and Youth categories exist for precisely this reason. Young talents can take in the World Championship atmosphere and gain valuable experience, while the teams can form the best of them. It’s not a coincidence that so many factory teams have very young riders in their midst whom they introduce to the world. This is why more and more teams and riders want to be a part of this world. For example, Andrea VERONA, Junior World Champion with the TM, graduated to the top category and competed with the pro riders in the Czech and French GPs.
What will the future hold? We will continue growing and increasingly be the point of reference for every single Enduro aficionado in the world, always attracting more of them.
The numbers are very clear, but we are also the first to understand that it’s not only about the numbers.
